KRON ALONG THE AVENUE OF TIME
KRON ALONG THE AVENUE OF TIME
Earning his living photographing tiny objects – faceted diamonds for gem dealers, the architecture of insects for biologists – Kron decides to turn his close-up lens on the intricate movements of the watches he’s been obsessively collecting his entire life.
As he magnifies their tiny gears and spinning wheels, Kron feels himself being drawn into their microscopic universe – and becoming increasingly haunted by re-found memories, his own mortality and time itself. Let’s call his Proustian journey 'The Private Life of Time.'
HARVEY GREENBERG, M.D., author SCREEN MEMORIES
I have watched KRON four times, and each time I've been profoundly moved by it.... It is not only a pleasure but a privilege to see this extraordinary work.
DAVID ATTWOOD, Director, FIDEL
What a wondrous and beautiful meditation on age, loss, time, guilt and death, and not forgetting of course, love. Watching this film is like reading the best poetry. I felt swept along by its beauty ...until by the end I felt sad and joyous at the same time and felt that I had seen a life, and participated in many lives. ...it had the clarity of crystal
JUDITH ELLIOTT, former publisher, ORCHARD BOOKS
As an exposure and declaration of inner and outer vision... (its) clarity and depth are breathtaking.... Who would have thought that ticking clocks, family photos and iconic movie clips could be put together with such beauty, to express such a personal and deep
view of life! It is ravishing to look at and a true and brave work of art, both exhilarating and painful.
